On the Gluten Free Hunt in Seattle Metro’s Eastside (Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond)
by Melissa Olson - July 29th, 2009.Filed under: Gluten Free Restaurants, gluten free diet.
Each time I move to a new place, we begin the process over again: where to find the gluten free grocery basics and what restaurants can we patronize with plenty of Gluten Free choices? I’ve been living in Kirkland and working in the Bellevue/Redmond areas for just over a month now and here is what I’ve found thus far (and please share with a comment if you know of more!):
- Van’s Gluten Free frozen Waffles at the Park Place QFC in downtown Kirkland
- Agua Verde now has a second small location at Kirkland’s Houghton Park on Lake Washington and serves excellent corn tortilla tacos
- Gluten Free Cupcakes can be found at Sweet Cakes on Park Lane in downtown Kirkland
- Upscale Gluten Free Italian food at Sages on 160th Ave in Redmond
- Plenty of Gluten Free products at Nature’s Pantry in Bellevue (including GF donuts, pretzels, mixes/flours, and xanthan gum). Wear tie-dye on Tuesday to receive a discounted price. I will also be teaching a gluten free class here in the fall, so please email me through this website’s contact page with any questions or topics you would like to see covered in the class.
