Gluten Free Christmas Cookies: Peanut Butter Balls

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

The posts for this December will all focus on gluten free christmas cookies and treats, one posted every few days between now and Christmas.  This first recipe for Peanut Butter Balls has been in my family for a long time….I can remember my brother and I sneaking into the freezer to eat these when my [...]

Gluten Free Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

It’s that time of year to be thankful again….and we are particularly thankful that most of the traditional Thanksgiving foods are already gluten free, except for the stuffing and pumpkin pie (ok yes, you will have to skip the breadrolls).  Below are recipes & links for modifications to make for your own gluten free Thanksgiving: [...]

I just got back from attending an inspiring two-day event with the Bellingham Gluten Intolerance Group ~ what a fantastic group of people who are truly passionate about getting out life-changing information to anyone who needs to know more about how gluten is impacting their bodies and what to do about it.

October is Celiac Disease Awareness Month

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

In honor of Celiac Disease Awareness Month, I was asked to be the narrator for a video segment explaining what Celiac disease is.  For anyone who wants to help their friends and family better understand Celiac disease and why they shouldn’t ask “You can’t even eat just a small serving of stuffing?” at Thanksgiving this [...]

Gluten Free Meatballs

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Every meatball recipe I ever come across calls for breadcrumbs as an ingredient.  And apart from Fairway, a grocery store in New York City, I have never seen gluten free breadcrumbs for sale.  Nor do I want to spend time drying out my precious gluten free bread loaves to later pulverize into breadcrumbs.  “There has [...]

Betty Crocker Goes Gluten Free!

Saturday, August 8th, 2009

Amazing, not even ten years ago, a gluten intolerant person had to kiss Miss Betty Crocker goodbye.  But lo and behold, I was in QFC last night looking for something to go with our soy vanilla ice cream for dessert and what do I pass by in the aisle?  Betty Crocker’s new boxed mix line [...]
